Virtual SUGCON 2020: Helix 2.0, Modern Tooling & Practices

SUGCON for the first time in 2020 was held virtually. Which for me, was a little disappointing as I was looking forward to catching up with all the people I have met in the Sitecore community over the years, meeting with colleagues from Budapest and exploring the beautiful city. But as we know things are different in 2020 and there's not much anyone can do about that it seems.

The silver lining on the cloud was the chance to present virtually to the community on a project I had been working on, which was inspired by a large scale real world project, in which I was the Sitecore lead.

This particular project involved 6 delivery squads across 4 countries and it peaked my interest around how to manage such a distributed project using Helix principles from a development experience perspective.

Including:

• Helix module scaffolding with Yeoman
• Project forms e.g. SDK
• Package references
• Helix Publishing Pipeline
• Code validation
• CI/CD
